The bicyclists here are far more dangerous to pedestrians as they don't think basic rules apply to them and blow throw intersections either without looking or caring about those who are crossing.

I think you'll find that cars are, overall, more dangerous to peds -- both in terms of fatalities and of collisions; and that is on both a share-of-road and a totality basis.

Yeah, almost getting bowled over is scary. But its not quite that same a collision or death.

I've railed agasint 'outlaw bikers' for years. What I am noticing is that as the # and % of bikers increases, that more an more people obey the laws -- stop a signs and stay stopped at lights. Compliance isn't anywhere near autos in this respect. But this small measure is hardly a marker for comparing the 'law-abided-ness' of autos vs bikes. The speed limit and rolling stops violations are endemic among saintly CARS! Yes, auto drivers are hardly paragons of
Virture. And I don't know how many times I've had to go around a car that feels its his right to stop in the middle of the crosswalk. (Its almost as if he feels he needs a toe over the line advantage in the race to the next stop light.)

I've had my share of riders almost knocking me off my bike, so I know what you mean. But I'd rather be knocked off than run over.


Face it -- out society has a lot of changing its gotta do. Either voluntarily or by external forces.
